Grounded Privacy Policy

Summary
Grounded is designed to be private by default. All data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers.
Data Processing
Voice input: Voice recordings are transcribed using Apple's on-device speech recognition framework. Audio is processed entirely on your iPhone and is never sent to any server — not ours, and not Apple's.
AI-generated plans: When available, plan generation uses Apple's Foundation Models framework, which runs entirely on your device. Your input text is never transmitted off-device for processing.
Session data: Your grounding sessions, ritual responses, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not synced to any cloud service.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or any account information (no account is required)
- We do not collect voice recordings or transcripts
- We do not collect usage analytics or behavioral data
- We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
- We do not collect device identifiers for tracking purposes
Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of purchase status through Apple's StoreKit framework but do not receive or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of purchase data.
Third-Party Services
Grounded does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. The only external communication is with Apple's App Store for purchase verification, which is handled by the operating system.
Crisis Resources
If Grounded detects language that may indicate a crisis, it displays contact information for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Crisis Text Line. Tapping these links opens your phone's dialer or browser. No information about this detection is collected or transmitted.
Children's Privacy
Grounded does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require an account and collects no personal information from any user of any age.
Data Deletion
All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by going to Settings within the app and tapping "Delete all data," or by deleting the app from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Since we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly — please review this policy periodically.
